The Boys Brigade Nigeria, Edo State Council has honoured a staff of ITV/Radio and a former Public Relations Officer of the council, Mr Osamudiamen Aghimien with the presentation of Veteran Award.
Also honoured were the traditional ruler of Opi town in Nsukka, Enugu State, Igwe Joseph Ezea; Elder Thomas Kalu; Professor Herietta Oboh and Dame Reginald Eseiwi.
The event which held in Benin City was aimed at driving the spiritual growth of youths and members of the Brigade.
It featured investiture of patrons and patronesses, as well as induction of past officers into its Hall of Fame.
In their remarks, the President Boys Brigade, Edo State Council, Sir Bibowei Braie and Chairman Projects Committee, Dr. B.O. Epelle-Asemota said the event was to honour members who have been adding to value to the council in achieving the objective of the Boys Brigade.
They said that the honour was to appreciate the awardees for their distinguished service to the Brigade and humanity generally
The Presbyter, Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Benin Parish, Rev. Caleb KayUche in an exhortation said that what gives meaning to one’s life is service to humanity.
The General Manager, Independent Radio, Pastor Dan Omozusi congratulated the awardees and inductees for being found worthy for the honour.
In a chat with newsmen, Osamudiamen Aghimien reiterated his commitment to the service of the Boys Brigade, describing the honour as a call to greater service.
