Three commercial banks were on Thursday evening attacked by gunmen in a siege that lasted over an hour in Uromi, Esan North East Local Council of Edo State.
The gunmen, who were alleged to have come in their numbers and several vehicles, attacked the three banks with dynamites.
At the end of the operation, no fewer than five persons, including police officer were killed by gunmen.
The Guardian learnt that the robbers made away with large sum of money from the three banks.
Spokesman for Police Command in the state, SP Bello Kontongs, who confirmed the attack, said he has no detail of the attack at the time of filling the report.
