Water Supply: Edo Commissioner tours Water Pumping Stations

In line with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s technology driven administration of Making Edo Great Again (MEGA), the Edo State Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr. Moses Agboku has embarked on a working tour to Water Pumping Stations in Benin City.
The tour was to assertain the condition of facilities in the pumping stations.
He said that over 15-years past, the vision of revamping the water sector in the state did not received government attention until the coming of the Governor Obaseki’s led administration and the fulfillment of his campaign promises of providing clean water to every household in the state.
According to him, the Governor has deemed it fit to revive the water sector in the state.
He said that rehabilitation of water works is almost completed across the three senatorial districts of the state, while commending the Manager of Edo Water Corporation, Mrs Adegbenga Toyin-Rose and staff for their commitment to duty and the work done in the Limit Pumping Station, especially the installation of Hydrant Pump for tanker drivers usage and test running of the facilities.
At Abiku Pumping Station in Upper Sokponba area of Benin City, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with security at the facilities and promising that before the Christmas season, every household within the area and beyond would soon enjoy affordable, accessible and portable water.
In her remarks, the Edo Water Corporation Manager, Mrs Toyin-Rose thanked the governor for his vision for Edo State water projects across the three senatorial districts which he added are near completion.
She enjoined the staff and citizenry to key into actualizing the MEGA agenda of the state government for socio-economic development of the state.
