Age Cheating: Identification Card To Be Introduced Into NYGs, Says Sports Minister

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development in Nigeria,  Sunday Dare says to curb the incessant cases of age cheating in the National Youth Games, the National Identity Management Commission Identification Card to be admitted in the games.
 Dare while declaring closed the 6th edition of the National Youth Games in Ilorin, noted with dismay the incessant age cheating associated with the National Youth Games, promising that the Ministry will deploy high scientific methods in curbing age cheating in future editions.
He noted that the ministry will ensure that the aim of the tournament to discover young talent for the nation will be followed to have good replacement for the current crop of athletes.
Meanwhile at the end of the tournament, team Delta came first with 60 Gold, 26 Silver and 28 Bronze, while Lagos came Second with 19 Gold, 25 Silver and 28 Bronze and Team Edo coming 3rd with 18 Gold, 10 Silver and 12 Bronze.
Speaking to Sports Writers, Leader of team Edo, Mrs. Sabina Chikere praised the athletes and coaches for achieving the target of performing better than the 2019 appearance which was 5th position
