No fewer than 36 burnt Corpses were on Wednesday recovered from Yelwan Zangam community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State after the alleged Fulani bandits attacked the village in early hours and set it ablaze.
Authoritative source revealed that the bandits who were over 50 in number came at about 3am and started pouring petrol into all the huts in the village without raising any alarm and later added fire to complete their deadly mission.
The source said, “they even laid ambush for the villagers who tried to escape and push them back to the inferno, while some escapees were taken along with them after the act”.
The massacre reportedly occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, leaving women, children and the aged dead in their sleep.
Confirming the incident, David Zaion, a member of the community, David Zaion, said that attackers invaded the community and killed everything in sight.
“We have recovered 36 corpses of people who were killed by the Fulani, most of the corpses were burnt beyond recognition,’ he said.
