DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Husband Stab To Death By Wife’s Sibling In Delta State

A 54 year old man identified as Oluchi has been stabbed to death by his wife’s sibling during a domestic disagreement between the couple at Ulogwe-Isumpe community of Utagbe-Unor in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday.

An enraged sibling of the estranged wife was said to have stabbed the deceased, said to be in his 50s, with a kitchen knife on the neck, which made him dead on the way to the hospital.
Eye witnesses revealed that trouble started when the couple had a quarrel over a yet to be known issue, which degenerated into a fight.
According to the community sources, the wife quickly invited her siblings to come to her aid, crying out loud on the phone that her husband wanted to kill.
“The siblings rushed to the scene, and in the course of engaging Oluchi in a physical fight, one of the siblings reached out for a kitchen knife and stabbed the man severally on the neck”, sources claimed.
A source added that the man fell down wreathing in pains before neighbours arrived the scene to rush him to the hospital where he gave up the ghost.
The source added that the police were invited to take the woman (bereaved wife) to the outpost at the nearby Ndemili community.
It was also gathered that the siblings have took to their heels when the news of the man death was announced to the community people.
Already, after the arrest of the wife, detectives have been sent out by the Police to track down the fleeing siblings.
The sources added that members of the community have started to assist the Police to track down the siblings by invading their respective houses.
Confirming the incident, the Acting Public Relations Officer of Delta State Police Command DSP Bright Edafe said the incident was true but could not give further details now as the Police station in the area are still working on it.
He said, “It was confirmed but I don’t have details yet. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kwale division has already detailed his men to investigate the incident”.
