The Director General of the Edo state liaison office in Abuja, Mr. Festus Osaigbovo has called on the indigenes of the state to stand up and make positive impact in the country as they have all it takes to do so.
Mr. Osaigbovo said this during the rebranding and upgrade of the Association of Edo State Indigenes in Abuja, AESIA to the National Association of Edo State Indigenes, NAESI in Abuja.
According to the Director General, Edo state is filled with potentials that can be harnessed to bring positive development to the state and by extension, the nation. He noted that, the state has some of the best brains the country can boast of. “When we come together as a group, we can channel all our ideas to develop our state.
Commenting on the upgrade and rebranding, the DG pointed out that, it means all Indigenes of Edo in all the nineteen northern states and the FCT will be captured. Those in these states will feel a sense of belonging just like what they have in the Diaspora community. “They will have opportunities to contribute their quota to ensure the state moves forward. “
“Just like one of Nigeria’s civilian President said, “if you want intelligent people, go to Bendel state”; who are the original Bendel state, it is us. So we can achieve greatness for our state and extend it to the nation”.
Mr. Osaigbovo also advised the newly appointed executive to make sure they carry everyone along, charging them that as a group they can achieve more success. To the Indigenes of the state, he encouraged everyone to participate in the development of the state and give support to the executives to function well.
