Do More to Lift Nigerians Out of Poverty, Senators Urge Minister

The Senate committee on Industry, Trade and Investment,  has urged the Honorable Minister of Trade and Investment to do more to lift Nigerians out of poverty in line with the President Muhammadu Buhari agenda.
This was made known during the budget defense of the Ministry in Abuja.

This followed when the Minister notified the Senate committee about the Ministry’s proposed special Agro Processing Zone in each senatorial District of the nation.

According to the Minister, the peculiar thing about the Agro Processing zone is that each of the zone will produce the raw materials that will be processed seeing every zone is blessed with various natural resources.

The Minister also said that the proposal will be made possible only with the  approval of the Senate.

The Senators while praising the good work done by the ministry in meeting up with their target for 2020 despite the COVID 19 pandemic was encouraged by the lawmakers to ensure that it does everything within its power to bring to fruition Mr. President’s vision of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.
The committee gave approval to the ministry to go ahead with its 2021 budget proposal.
