Giving the list of the stations affected, the police in Lagos took an inventory of lives and properties lost on Tuesday when their stations were attacked by hoodlums posing as #EndSARS protesters.
According to a statement issued by the Police Spokesman, Lagos Command, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, “the police formations attacked in Lagos today, are Orile Station (burnt), Layeni Station (burnt), Amukoko (burnt), Cele outpost, under Ijesha Division (burnt), Mushin Division and Ilembe Hausa Division.
“The hoodlums also set the Lagoon Hospital and Ajeromi Ifelodun LG secretariat on fire”.
Adejobi stated: “The number of policemen killed at various locations within the state will be released soon.
“We will make sure there is not total break down of law and order in Lagos State as adequate security operatives have been deployed.”
Meanwhile, unconfirmed report stated that over nine men among the protesters at Lekki Toll gate were shot dead by the military men sent to the venue to dispersed the crowd and observe the curfew imposed by the State Governor, Sanwo-Olu.
Eye witness accounted that the protesters started to boo the soldiers who gave them 30minutes to vacate the area, which did not go down well with the security men.
“When one of the soldiers shot a protester, there was response of gun shot from the protesters, which made soldiers to open fire on the protesters, killing about nine people instantly”, he revealed.
He added that the killings made more people to join the protesters, shouting war song and dare the soldiers to kill all of them.
Efforts to get the Army PRO, 81 division and the Police PRO to confirm the incident proved abortive as both men phone numbers are switched off.
