Resuming the strike off process

From 10 September 2020, we’ll resume the process for companies that have applied for voluntary strike off.

From 10 October 2020, we’ll also resume the compulsory strike off process for companies we believe are no longer carrying on business or in operation.

We’re also looking for people who’ve objected to a company strike off to take part in user research sessions for a new online service. If you’re interested in taking part please email surveys@companieshouse.gov.uk

Take action to prepare for 1 January 2021

While the government continues to negotiate a free trade agreement with the European Union, there are actions your business can take now to prepare for the end of the transition period after Brexit.

You can use the straightforward checker tool at gov.uk/transition to identify the specific steps you need to take to be ready on 1 January 2021.

You can also sign up to receive a regular Business Readiness Transition Bulletin providing information on major announcements and recently published guidance.

Are you thinking of registering a trade mark for your business?

The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) is testing an innovative new tool that could improve your chances of registering a trade mark. It’s inviting businesses that are about to apply for a trade mark, to test the tool and give feedback on how well it’s working.

If you’d like to take part, contact usertesting@ipo.gov.uk or visit their blog for further details.
