Coronavirus UK LIVE: Boris Johnson could ban indoor gatherings as Eat Out to Help Out starts TOMORROW and deaths top 46K

THE Prime Minister could ban indoor gatherings following a spike in coronavirus cases across England.

Parts of the country including Greater Manchester have already had these measures restricted after health bosses warned the Government too much mingling between family groups is the main cause of an alarming rise in infections.

Boris Johnson is now reportedly considering seriously tough measures to control a second spike.

A source said: “We want to avoid a second national lockdown at all costs and a lot will depend on how we can keep a lid on things.”

Meanwhile, the new Eat Out to Help Out scheme launches tomorrow, August 3, meaning Brits will be able to bag half price meals at participating pubs, restaurants and cafes.

The government will pay for half the bill, up to £10 per head, for your meal and any soft drinks on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the month.

Today the Covid-19 death toll rose to 46,201, while there were 744 new cases of the virus.
