Kolokolo Community send SOS to Oba Ewuare II, Olu of Warri, Gov Obaseki, Police, other relevant authorities

  • The People of Kolokolo, an oil producing community in Ikpoba Okha, Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria  have called on Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, The Oba of Benin Kingdom, Oba Ewuare II,  the Olu of warri, the Nigerian Police and other relevant authorities  to urgently come to their rescue over the lingering crisis which they alleged was caused by the Iyasere of Warri, Chief Johnson Aseleghe.
In a press statement signed by Pa Christian Cole, Pa Samuel Asukuarmi and Elder Benson Ayokotse made available to newsmen in Benin city, they said  Chief Johnson Aseleghe has continued to be a torn in the flesh of the people of Kolokolo community.
They  said they have never had any crisis within or with their neighboring oil producing communities like Ajoki, Ajatiton and Ajamuaga until they protested against the negligence of an oil company that ordinarily was suppose to pay them their entitlements and provide jobs for their teaming youths.
But unknown to them that  chief Johnson Aseleghe and his cohorts were behind the scenario by deceiving the oil company not to listen to them.
According to the statement, “Chief Johnson Aseleghe who is the Iyasere of warri is not from Kolokolo community, but from Delta State and  his father is from Agbaro while his mother is from Alaja-Igun.”
In his quest for power and wealth, he has committed a lot of atrocities and now he is alleged of killing the youth leader of Kolokolo community,  Mr Sunny Etchie.
“He is not the first Iyasere of warri kingdom and  he has continually Lord himself over the communities in the riverine area. Kolokolo is in  Edo land under the Ologbo dukedom  under the Enogie of Ologbo dukedom, Prince Jason Akenzua
” We want the Police, Attorney general of Edo state, Oba of Benin Kingdom, Olu of Warri to come to our humble rescue and bring to book Chief Johnson Aseleghe and his gang for the killing of our Son Sunny Etchie” the statement added.
They stressed that the  Itsekiri people and the Benin’s have been living together as one but the coming of chief Aseleghe has completely changed everything  from peace to war, just  because he wants the oil company to start paying homage to him instead of the Enogie of Ologbo who is the custodian of the Oba of Benin.
“We are calling on Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri as the custodian of the Itsekiri’s  to as a matter of urgency strip chief Johnson Aseleghe off his tittle as the Iyasere of Warri”  they added.
